You'll tap into traffic that comes to their site directly (That amounts to several tens of thousands of visitors daily). You'll also get those that come from search engines results.
Furthermore, you'll also build up your link popularity. Links from sites that have a page rank of up to 7 are pure gold as far as helping your site's standing with the search engines.
You can also post useful comments on blogs with high page rank and/or traffic. That way you'll build some quality links to your site apart from getting some quality traffic.
